Two Italian Nonnas flew in from Bologna
and stole Ireland’s heart.

As part of Birra Moretti’s ‘Nonna’s Kitchen’ campaign, we worked with the iconic Italian Nonna duo from Bologna during their Dublin visit to transform the pop-up event into a cultural story that would capture national attention. Instead of relying on typical food and drink promotion, our PR approach put authentic Italian grandmothers at the heart of the narrative across a mix of key print, national radio and lifestyle outlets. 

By highlighting the Nonna’s warmth, wit, and expertise, and tapping into the “grandmother nostalgia” trend, we transformed a live event into a nationally resonant moment, making Birra Moretti part of Ireland’s cultural conversation rather than just another date in the calendar. 

Our job was simple: make it news.

We sourced suitable locations and crafted vibrant, visually engaging photo moments;  from Nonnas at a Dublin bus stop, to making pasta in an Irish garden; each designed to capture attention and land with key media. 

We set up dedicated media slots, giving journalists the chance to speak with the Nonnas in person. These conversations sparked authentic, engaging dialogue that led to strong feature interviews with key outlets. 
 
Positioning the Nonnas as the original cultural storytellers gave journalists an irresistible story to bite. From food pages to culture columns, the coverage proved the story had legs.
