In this week’s Our Take, an exciting snorefest, an artist that burns his own work, an app that turns food porn into a usable menu, and Sweartaker’s own NIYL drops a Eurosong banger.
The Loudest Sale of the Year

Some marketing stunts put you to sleep, but Sleepzone’s new campaign makes a racket. It turns snoring into savings, by measuring the volume of your nocturnal noises, and dishing out discounts based on decibels. The more you snore, the better the bargain.
A gimmick? Absolutely. But it’s the kind of clever nonsense that makes people stop, laugh, and, crucially, get involved. Who wouldn’t want to test their snore strength for the sake of a bargain? And there’s a twisted logic underneath it all – if your snoring is so loud it rattles the windows, maybe it’s time for a better bed.
In a world full of polished marketing, sometimes it’s better to just make some noise.
Art on Fire

Art has evolved beyond the canvas, with pixels, projections, and virtual worlds becoming the norm. But one artist is transforming good old paint on canvas—by adding his own flare… literally.
Le Souls, a contemporary artist from Beijing, incorporates fire into his work, blending flame and light to create pieces that evoke warmth, passion, and mystery.
Each piece feels as if it’s both burning bright and fading into a glow that lingers, offering just enough light to leave you in awe. Simply put, his art ignites the soul. (see what we did there?)

Turn your feed into food

Why is it that we scroll past hundreds of inspiring, drool-worthy, hunger-inducing food pics every day, only to order the same old thing, again and again?
HungerStation, a Saudi Arabian food delivery platform, is here change that with Social Feed – a feature that turns any food post into a menu item you can instantly order.
Here’s how it works: See a mouth-watering meal on your social feed? Just DM the post to HungerStation’s Instagram. Through an AI-powered combination of image recognition and geolocation, the app identifies the dish and finds a nearby restaurant that serves it. There’s no need to search menus or guess ingredients. Whether it’s a viral dessert or a gourmet pasta dish, if you can see it, you can eat it.
Our only question is: when can we see this in Ireland? (And yes, we’ve already abandoned those healthy New Year’s resolutions).
VOTE FOR GROWTH

Our Take always brings you the best in culture and creativity, from whichever corner of the world it comes. Today, that corner is very near. Just two desks over, in fact.
By day, Niall is a consummate and stylish PR professional, a creator of clever campaigns, and editor of Our Take. By night, he is NIYL, pop icon, songwriter, and performer extraordinaire. In just a few hours, NIYL will make an appearance (and if the preview pics are anything to go by – WHAT an appearance!) on the Late Late Eurosong Special, with his entry, Growth.
It’s a banger. Give it a listen. And maybe even a vote.
